Thank to my classmate in high school for the heads up, found this out after getting some details from him with actual verification. After seeing on my facebook news feed his post yesterday, that senior citizens like his mom, gets cool benefits from the local government. One of them is getting to watch movies for free.
Since he is not a completely sure about the details for the free movie benefit and I'm on my way to SM MOA (Mall of Asia), it wouldn't hurt to verify that info from SM Cinemas there.
From the video, it's true. So, as replied to me by the cashier in the box ofice, it's MONDAYS, TUESDAYS as told by my classmate...and also THURSDAYS, as added by the cashier. But it does not apply to publicized box busters like the movies included in the Metro Manila Film Festival, that is held during the December holiday season. As mention by the 2 ladies, they are new to their job and not completely sure when this started, could be around a year already. Pasay City resident senior citizens must bring their senior citizen I.D. and booklet to avail this benefit.
Like in Makati City, senior citizen residences get a high discount than the standard 20% discount. Good news for the senior citizens and ther families here in Pasay City. One more way of enjoying life in your golden years without hurting the budget.
By the way, before posting this piece, I tried to do a search on Google about this and no relevant result came up. This is one of thing that the local goverment needs to work on, broadcasting useful information to its residence. Anyway, this post is my way of public service to all of us living this city.
